Senior goalie Lucas Primovera made nine saves to help Santa Cruz High’s boys water polo team beat visiting Soquel 12-10 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League action Tuesday.

Junior Pakalani Saxton-Vaka had seven goals and two steals for the Cardinals (8-1, 3-0), the defending league champion. Sophomore Hayden Johnson had three goals, two assists, and four steals. Junior Mattias Cruz had two assists, three steals, and drew two ejections. Senior Jayden Chopra had one goal, one assist, and two steals. Sophomore Nikolaus Kay had one goal and one steal.
Senior Hayes Pizzica had three goals, one block and two ejections drawn for the Knights (4-3, 1-1). Senior Tucker Graessle had two goals, two assists, four steaks and drew two ejections (one 5-meter). Junior Cash Wolf also scored twice.
